The Sounders beat the San Jose Earthquakes this weekend 2-0 with the return of Kasey Keller. We have won every game with him playing, and have yet to concede with him playing. That is a good statistic.
Steve Zakuani was a menace on the left wing, and he basically won the game for us. He made mincemeat of the San Jose defense, and basically wore them down. He helped create numerous chances and even scored the opening goal. It is not a coincidence that after his substitution, the Sounders eased off and just killed the game.
One thing I did notice is that Montero and Ljundberg don't seem to be clicking yet. I also noticed Ljundberg's excellent movement off the ball. He was open several time, and Sounders players missed him or were unable to get him the ball. If they can get that right, then our attack will become stronger.
I finally got some tickets, so I will see them when the host Chivas USA in September.
